Introduction

National Assembly Building in Yeongdeungpo District, Seoul was put into use in 1975. It covers an area of 330,580 square meters, with a building area of 81,442 square meters. It has six floors and two basement levels. The building is rectangular, measuring 122 meters long, 81 meters wide, and 64 meters high. It is characterized by 24 columns representing the 24 solar terms, and it is topped with a blue dome symbolizing the essence of parliamentary politics. The Assembly Hall has 400 seats, and it is designed to serve future Northern lawmakers after the reunification of the two Koreas. Additionally, the Budget Committee Meeting Room can be used as the Senate Chamber after the implementation of a bicameral system. The National Assembly Building also includes facilities such as the Assembly Member's Hall, the National Assembly Library, and the Constitutional Remembrance Hall.
