Introduction
Located behind the University Road, Mt. Namsan Park was originally an ancient fortress constructed entirely of granite rocks. It was named "Camel Mountain" or "Namsan" because its appearance is similar to the hump of a camel's back. Even during the Joseon Dynasty, the royal family and nobles loved this place. However, during the Japanese colonial rule and urban development, Namsan suffered massive destruction. To restore its green environment, the Seoul Metropolitan Government initiated a restoration project, and Namsan Park was rebuilt on June 10, 2002. As a historic site, this park is located in the city center and offers stunning views of the entire city of Seoul. Additionally, the famous Ihwa Mural Village is also located nearby the park.
