Introduction

Kayangan Lake, located on the northwest side of Coron Island at an elevation of about 43 meters, is a clear and moderately salty freshwater lake. In 1997 to 1999, the Philippine government selected it as the cleanest lake in the country, earning this honor. The lake is part of a coral reef uplift zone, with a maximum depth of 35 meters. It is home to various tropical fish species such as the arrowhead fish and trumpet fish, making it a popular diving spot due to its excellent water quality. To reach Kayangan Lake, you need to take a Banca boat from Coron Port, and after about 30 minutes, you will arrive at Coron Island. From there, it's a walk along a mountain road to the lake.
