Introduction
The Carthage Ruins are located 17 kilometers northeast of Tunis, representing a new city in Phoenician. According to historical records, Carthage was founded in the late 9th century BC. After its construction, the city gradually became stronger and became one of the political, economic, commercial, and agricultural centers of the Mediterranean region, and its territory continued to expand. However, conflicts with the Roman Empire led to the defeat of the Phoenicians, and after the Third Punic War, Carthage was destroyed by the Romans. The Romans rebuilt the city in 122 BC, giving rise to Carthage's second period of prosperity, second only to Rome. However, in 698 AD, Carthage was completely destroyed by Arab armies.
