Introduction

The NanYang Prefecture Office, commonly known as the Prefecture or the Governor's Office, was the official residence of the NanYang Governor during the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. It is located in the southwest corner of the old city, on the north side of the western end of Minzhu Street. The NanYang Prefecture Office has a history of more than 700 years and is regarded as a valuable cultural relic. The City Committee and the Municipal Government have decided to restore the NanYang Prefecture Office, which is an action that has received popular approval.
