Introduction

During the Qingli period of the Song Dynasty, Fan Zhongyan, serving as the magistrate of Dengzhou, established Huazhou Academy, which included a lecture hall called Chunfeng Hall, a library, and living quarters. In addition, he built Baihuazhou to the east of the academy, renovated Lanshowing Pavilion, and erected Chunfeng Ge, which led to the academy being named Huazhou Academy. Fan Zhongyan was not only a famous politician, military strategist, literary figure, and educator, but also an important philosopher.
