Introduction

The Tianning Pagoda, located within the Tianning Temple, is a building known as "the first pagoda in China." It stands at 153.79 meters tall and features unparalleled copper sculpture art, with a total of 1000 tons of copper decoration. It integrates elements of "tower of prosperity, tower of culture, and tower of heritage" into one. The pagoda is equipped with four elevators for visitors to reach the thirteen floors of the pagoda, which stands at 12 stories high. Visitors can overlook the beautiful scenery of Changzhou, admire various Buddha statues made of jade or glass within the pagoda, or leave memorable moments with the large bell at the top of the pagoda (with a fee). Notably, the diamond-shaped spire atop the pagoda, including the lotus platform, elephant wheel, drum seat, and flame plate, is one of the most eye-catching architectures in the pagoda. This spire is cast from 75 tons of brass.
