Introduction

This ancient town is one of the six major ancient towns in Jiangnan. It was established in the Song Dynasty and has a history of more than 1,000 years. Surrounded by five lakes, the ancient town is divided into seven islands by a network of rivers, with beautiful scenery and water on all sides. Visitors can enjoy tea, chat, watch folk performances, walk over three quaint bridges, take a boat ride, and enjoy a slow-paced lifestyle. There are many ancient bridges and Ming and Qing Dynasty architecture in this town, as well as many famous scholars. Although the town has an ancient and classical atmosphere, it also incorporates modern architecture and culture.

Transportation
Take bus 733/7101/7115 to Tonglihu Resort bus station and walk about 282 meters to get there. Take Suzhou Metro Line 4 to Tongli Station and come out of Exit 9. You will see a sign on the wall that says "Wujiang Metro T1 Demonstration Line Transfer Station." When you come out of Exit 9, you will see the transfer station. The train runs every 20 minutes and the ride takes 10 minutes to get to Tongli Ancient Town North Tourist Center.
