Introduction

Located behind the former residence of Lu Xun, the Hundred Herb Garden used to be a vegetable garden shared by over ten households surnamed Zhou in Xintaimen. Only melons and vegetables were grown here during normal times and it was used to dry grains after the harvest. This was the playground of Lu Xun during his childhood, where he often came to play, pick mulberries, catch birds and left his footprints. Thanks to Lu Xun's literary work "From the Hundred Herb Garden to the Book House of Sanwei," it has become a childhood memory for most tourists. To the west of the large garden, there is a boundary stone engraved with the words "Liang Jie." At the southern end of it, there is a "short mud wall" which Lu Xun called "infinitely interesting." It is still well-preserved today.
