Introduction

The Duku Highway has a total length of 561 kilometers, like a winding giant dragon lying across the Tianshan Mountains. This road connects southern and northern Xinjiang, traversing steep mountains, crossing deep canyons, and linking with many ethnic minority settlements. Its completion has shortened the distance between southern and northern Xinjiang by nearly half, overcoming many difficulties, and is an important milestone in China's road construction history. In order to build this road, tens of thousands of soldiers and officers worked hard for 9 years, among whom 168 officers and soldiers gave their precious lives.
