Introduction
On the Lugu Lake, Liwubi Island faces the Snake Island and is the largest island in the lake. One side of the island is a natural dock formed by stalactites. A winding path leads to the top of the island, with many rhododendrons and wild cherry trees along the way, ultimately leading to the Yellow Temple Liwubi Temple. The temple was first built in 1634 and rebuilt in 1989, and enshrines statues of Buddha Shakyamuni, Guanyin, the Thousand-Armed and Thousand-Eyed Buddha, the founder of the Gelug sect of Tibetan Buddhism Tsongkhapa, his second disciples Buddha statues, and guardian deities. During Tibetan festivals or Buddhist celebrations, believers come from around the lake to pray and pay their respects, and the incense is strong and lively. In addition, there is a white pagoda on the island, which is the funerary pagoda of Anyun Mountain, the chief official of the Yongning Mosuo chieftain, who was a well-known political figure in the Mosuo region of Yunnan, Sichuan and Tibet.
