Introduction
Qiaoxi Ancient Charm is a newly opened tourist attraction in Meizhou City, located at the foothills of Wuzhi Peak in Yinnashan, a natural reserve and scenic area in Guangdong Province. It is adjacent to the national-level Yannanfei Tea Field scenic area. Built during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (1573-1619), the attraction is a Hakka folk and natural village, as well as a hometown village and revolutionary old base. Surrounded by mountains, towering ancient trees, blooming flowers and clear mountain springs, the natural ecology and tourism are integrated beautifully. After hundreds of years of development, the attraction has formed a rich Hakka culture, with 16 individual building sites protected, 13 of which are traditional Hakka residential buildings. They are built either along the mountains or near the streams, exuding a strong sense of simplicity and highlighting the beautiful symbol of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. Qiaoxi Ancient Charm showcases the migration of Hakka people, Hakka folk customs, overseas Chinese history and revolutionary history, and has high historical, cultural, artistic and tourism value. In 2002, it was listed as a key cultural relic protection unit in Guangdong Province and in 2011, it was recognized as one of the ancient villages in Guangdong Province.
