Introduction
Potan ancient town is located at the heart of the intersection of water and land in the southeast ancient salt road. Although the town is not too big and some areas are a bit rundown, the preserved buildings are all from the Ming and Qing dynasties, such as brothels, ancient theaters, gambling houses, banks, etc. The most worthy of appreciation is the Chen's Ancestral Hall, where ancestor tablets are enshrined, which is relatively rare in other small towns. If tourists see winding paths, they must walk on the "dragon"-shaped ancient street paved with pebbles, which is very rare in China. Most of the residents in the ancient town are local elders, leading a peaceful and comfortable life with little commercialization.
In addition, the ancient town also preserves a millennium-old skill - boneless flower lantern needlework, which is known as the "unique skill of China" and a national intangible cultural heritage.
