Introduction
The Zhang Daqian Memorial Hall, located on the top of Dongyan Garden in the north of Neijiang city by the Tuo River, was built to commemorate an outstanding Chinese painting master. The painter, named Zhang Daqian (1899-1983), was a famous contemporary Chinese painter who was born in Neijiang and learned painting since childhood. Having studied in Japan, he had exceptional painting skills and his works were admired for their unique style and beautiful charm, earning him the reputation as "the first painter of contemporary times". The memorial hall occupies 31.46 acres of land with a building area of 1,060 square meters and includes facilities such as Dafengtang, Painting Court, Corridor, Pavilion, Xie, Water Pool, and Rockery. The architectural layout is unique with a style resembling traditional Chinese courtyard houses. In the central hall of the memorial hall, there is a bronze statue of Zhang Daqian, while the Painting Court on both sides displays the paintings and calligraphy of Zhang Daqian and Zhang Shanzi. The plaque above the front door reads "Neijiang Zhang Daqian Memorial Hall" written by General Zhang Xueliang himself. Address Dongtong Road, Dongxing District, Neijiang City, Sichuan Province
