Introduction
Located in the village of Longchuan Hushi in Kengkou Township (Yingzhou), the Longchuan Hushi Ancestral Hall was built in the 25th year of the Ming Dynasty's Jiajing period (1547) and was later renovated in the 4th year of the Qing Dynasty's Guangxu period (1898). It faces north and sits south, with three entrances in total, covering a total area of 1271 square meters, surrounded by majestic mountains and rivers. The interior of the ancestral hall is beautifully decorated, and contains a large number of precious woodcarvings, making it a treasure trove of Huizhou woodcarving art. Longchuan has produced two six-part secretaries since the Ming Dynasty, and is the hometown of Chairman Hu Jintao. In 1988, it was listed as a national key cultural relic protection unit. Many experts believe that the Longchuan Hushi Ancestral Hall is a gem among ancient Chinese ancestral hall architecture.
