Introduction
Located about 5 kilometers south of Jingxi County in Guangxi Province, the foot of Eshan Mountain features a famous natural spring called E Quan. Covering over 50 acres, it is regarded as one of the three most famous springs in Southwest China and has been one of Jingxi's eight famous sights since ancient times. The spring water flows out of crevices in limestone rocks, gathering in deep pools before continuing to flow eastwards as the E Quan River. A temple dedicated to Yang Miao is located by the spring, with three giant stone tablets in front of the temple, including the Qing Dynasty's "E Quan Tingbei" (E Quan Pavilion Monument), which records the history of E Quan and includes inscriptions. The temple itself has many inscriptions and is surrounded by mountainous scenery and crystal-clear water. E Quan is also known for its carp, which often jump out of the water when people shout by the spring banks, creating a famous sight called "E Quan Fish Leap." Additionally, there is a 15-arch bridge above the spring, built during the Qing Dynasty, which is still preserved in good condition and is one of the many scenic spots of E Quan.
