Introduction
The Zhonggulou of Luzhou is located in the northern part of Luzhou city. It is about 20 meters high and consists of four layers of brick structures and five pointed towers. It was built in the 16th year of the Jiajing reign in the Ming Dynasty (1537), when it was built by Xue Jia, the commander of the Luzhou Military Preparedness Department, mainly used for timekeeping and alarm reporting. In 1927, local residents Taxiheng purchased four large self-ringing bells and entrusted Siemens, a German company, to install them on the top floor on all four sides. The hour and minute hands rotate simultaneously and can automatically report the time, with the sound of the bells echoing far away. A small park has been built around the Zhonggulou, covering an area of about 2,100 square meters and costing more than 9 million yuan. It includes green spaces, garden art pieces, and small fountains. Address 13 Huayuan Road, Jiangyang District, Luzhou City, Sichuan Province
