Introduction
The Jilin Confucian Temple was approved to be built by Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty. It is one of the largest Confucian temples in the Northeast region of China, on par with the Confucian temples in Qufu, Nanjing, and Beijing as the Four Great Confucian Temples in China. The temple consists of 21 independent buildings, including the Pan Pond, the Top Scholar Bridge, the Lingxing Gate, the Main Gate, the Chongsheng Hall, and the East and West Ya Gates. Visitors can enjoy exhibits on the life of Confucius, stone carvings of his teachings and legacy, and embroidered portraits of Confucian scholars and their wives throughout the ages in the temple. There is also a 5.7-meter statue of Confucius in front of the grand gate, donated by Mr. Tang Enjia, the director of the Hong Kong Confucian Academy. The large and high-level architecture of the temple complex is unique among local Confucian temples built in the feudal society. Every building and facility in the temple is rich in profound cultural connotations. Address Wenmiao Hutong, Changyi District, Jilin City
