Introduction

In 1912, the Situ family built the Nanlou tower to prevent thieves from invading. The tower is 7 stories high, located in a strategic location, with solid construction and rectangular gun holes on each floor. The 6th floor is an observation deck with machine guns and searchlights. During the Anti-Japanese War, the Situ family self-defense team headquarters were stationed here. When Chikan, where Nanlou is located, was occupied, 7 members of the team, including Situ Xu, Situ Xuan and Situ Yu, decided to defend Nanlou. After 7 days and nights of intense fighting, they bravely sacrificed their lives due to insufficient manpower. After the war, to commemorate these 7 brave warriors, the government established the Nanlou Memorial Park on the original site, and added some scenic spots such as a memorial hall, statues, and a ceremonial archway for people to mourn and remember.
