Introduction

In Taozhu Ancient City, there was once a guard post that fought against Japanese pirates. It was made famous by the anti-Japanese hero General Qi Jiguang, who dealt a heavy blow to the pirates. The city was first built in the 20th year of the Ming Dynasty's Hongwu period, initially as an earthen city. In the seventh year of the Ming Dynasty's Zhengtong period (1442), renovation began and was completed in just one year in the eighth year of the Ming Dynasty's Zhengtong period (1443). Today, historic sites like Taozhu Ancient City still remain in their original form, with a history of nearly 600 years.
