Introduction

Ma Ren Mountain, located in Chisha Town, Fanchang County, Anhui Province, is listed as a provincial forest park due to its beautiful peaks and dense vegetation. "Ma Ren Stone Wall" was also listed as one of the ten ancient sights of Fanchang County. There are giant rocks resembling horses and people on the mountain, hence the old name Ma Ren Mountain. Legend has it that one day the stone horse made a strange sound, causing local people to feel ominous, so they chiseled off its head and changed the name of the mountain to Ma Ren Mountain. The stone walls of Ma Ren Mountain come in various shapes, such as ferrying immortals, monks making pilgrimages, jade cats turning back, a line of sky, heaven-supporting pillars, and moon caves, all lifelike and very magical. The ancient poet once praised, "Feng Huaijiu is the work of the gods, and the cliff is half the blue sky. Remember the Ma Ren roaring in the night, the flag shaking in the autumn wind." The Ma Ren Forest Park is complete and dense with over six hundred plant species, including natural nanmu forests covering dozens of acres, with a long and precious history. The Ma Ren Temple, built in the Tang Dynasty, still has a continuous stream of visitors to this day. At the southern foot of Ma Ren Mountain, there is also the Wuxia Temple, which adds more luster to this millennium Buddhist place. The scenery of Ma Ren Mountain is beautiful due to its forests, spiritual due to its temples, and magical due to its peaks and stones. When the clouds rise, the mist surrounds the cliffs, leaving an unforgettable impression on visitors from all around.

Last admission time: 16:00 (Monday-Sunday, January 1st-December 31st) Note: as of December 31st, 2024, all medical workers who aided Hubei during the COVID-19 pandemic, including national, military, and provincial medical teams, can enjoy free entrance to the scenic area with valid identification (ID card or relevant documentation) for an unlimited number of visits within 5 years.

Transportation

Traffic: The Ma Renqi Peak is only 40 kilometers away from Wuhu City, and the journey takes about 1 hour. The driving route: Changjiang Road - Eshan Road - Sanshan District - Fanchang County - scenic area. Along the Yangtze River Expressway, it is convenient and fast. City residents can take the Wuhu-Fanchang bus line and transfer to the No. 5 tourist bus at the station to go to the scenic area.
