Introduction
San Su Temple, located in the western part of Meishan City, Sichuan Province, is the former residence of literary figures Su Xun, Su Shi, and Su Zhe. It used to be a five-acre courtyard, which was later rebuilt into a temple in the Yuan Dynasty, but was destroyed by fire in the late Ming Dynasty. In the fourth year of the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1665), it was rebuilt on the original site. San Su Temple maintains the style of the Su family's former residence, and the ancient and secluded temple garden architecture is also very unique. The red walls and green trees in the courtyard are its important features. San Su Temple displays statues of Su Xun, Su Shi, Su Zhe, and their family members, as well as portraits and tablets of Su Weidao and the ancestors of many generations, and the historical relics of the Su family, such as the wooden rockery hall, ancient well, wash basin pool, and lychee tree. There are 150 stone tablets in the tablet gallery, of which 80 were inscribed by Su Dongpo. In addition, there are over ten thousand literature and cultural relics related to San Su in the museum. In 2007, the Meishan Municipal Party Committee and the People’s Government of Meishan City rebuilt the Dongyuan Memorial Archway, San Su Memorial Hall (biographical exhibition hall), tourism reception center, etc. with an increase of more than 20 acres, and it currently has a total area of 106 acres. The area of the biographical exhibition hall has also increased from about 300 square meters to about 3,000 square meters. San Su Temple uses modern methods such as multimedia, touch screens, silicone wax figures, and 3D animation to display, and has been approved by the State Council as a key cultural relic protection unit, assessed by the National Cultural Heritage Administration as a second-tier national museum, and rated as a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. It is also a patriotic education base and a clean government education base in Sichuan Province. Address "72 South Section of Shahu Xing, Dongpo District, Meishan City, Sichuan Province."
