Introduction

Zhenjiang, a historic and cultural town, has a prosperous history and many works left by literati and ink writers. Among them, "Zhenhu Eight Sceneries" is full of poetry and painting, which is refreshing. The Zhenjiang Boat Display also shows its strong folk customs, which is unique in the world. In addition, Hunan Mianqiaotou Town has the former residence of Liu Zhuangyuan, claiming to be a "seventeenth century family of archers and horses, a five-hundred-year-old clothing land", and the Liu brothers won three championships and two martial arts champions in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. It is still a beautiful story. In addition, Zhenhu area is rich in water and soil, has a mild climate, and the people are hardworking and intelligent. There are various aquatic products here, especially the "Zhenhu Eight Delicacies" represented by crab, fish cakes, and shrimp balls, which are hailed as masterpieces of water town food culture and were named one of the "Top 10 Food Festivals in China" in 2007. Zhenjiang Ancient Town was originally named Qintong. Because it is surrounded by water, Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty noticed that the word "Tong" has the meaning of "water", so he added three dots of water to the character "Qin", making the name of Zhenjiang even more closely related to water. In the mid-Qing Dynasty, the agriculture, fisheries and kilns in Zhenjiang developed vigorously, becoming an essential transportation hub for shipping grain and salt. With the increasing population and growing number of shops, it became a famous water town market. From the 1920s to the early Anti-Japanese War, the grain trade in Zhenjiang was very prosperous, and industries such as rice factories and oil mills continued to develop. Commercial industries such as tea houses, restaurants, and bathhouses continued to emerge, and new communication tools such as electric lights, telephones, telegrams, and newspapers also appeared. Today, Zhenjiang has become a key town in China and a well-known historical and cultural town, attracting many tourists to visit its unique culture and charm.
