Introduction

Zhàixià Grand Canyon was discovered by outsiders in June 2004. It is located 15 kilometers northwest of Zhàixià Village in Taining County. It consists of three connected canyons forming a triangular shape, resembling a golden dragon curling in the mountains, hence it is also known as Jīnlóng Valley. This is the first geological survey route constructed in Taining County and was awarded as a model scenic spot of the world geological park by United Nations experts.
