Introduction

Taian Building in Dapu was built in the 28th year of the Qianlong Reign of the Qing Dynasty (1764) and has a history of over 200 years. The building is of a large scale and exquisite structure, with a single-story hall as the central building surrounded by a three-story building. The building is equipped with complete facilities and is of a unique architectural style, being one of the few stone buildings in China. It is known as the "Water Cube of the Hakka people". At the end of 2000, after an investigation by the Cultural Heritage Protection Department of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage and the Secretary-General of the Chinese International Ancient Sites and Monuments Council, Guo Pan, it was considered to be a "historical and cultural museum" for the study of ancient Chinese residential architecture, Hakka history and culture, and folk customs.
