Introduction

Nanshan National Forest Park is composed of four main scenic areas, including Zhaoyin, Zhulin, Lianhua Cave, and Wenyuan. Since the Southern Dynasties, countless literati, emperors, and officials have praised the beauty of Nanshan. The mountain is covered with lush trees and towering pines and cypresses. In spring and summer, birds chirp, cicadas sing, and clear springs flow, making it extremely cool and pleasant. In autumn, the mountain is covered with red leaves, and temples and trees are surrounded by a picturesque sight. The famous Song Dynasty calligrapher and painter Mi Fu once called it the "urban forest." Additionally, there are many temples and buildings with cultural landscapes, the most famous of which is the Zhaoyin Temple founded by the Eastern Jin Dynasty artist Dai Yong. It is home to many ancient relics and cultural treasures. The Zhulin Temple and Helin Temple are also located near surrounding ponds and ancient trees. Lianhua Cave is a lively cave where precious fossils of some Quaternary animals have been discovered.
