Introduction

It is said that Song Jing was built by the royal family and army led by Emperor Zhao Shi and his brother Zhao Bing in the first year of the Jingyan era (1276) of the Southern Song Dynasty in order to evade pursuit by the Yuan army and stay in Nanao. It is said that three wells were dug for drinking at that time, but later they were submerged by seawater. In the fifteenth year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty, the well reappeared and has maintained its sweet water quality as a wonder of Nanao after years of vicissitudes.
