Introduction
Jiangnan First Pass, also known as Yaoyao Rock, is located in the eastern part of Fuling Township, with an altitude of 424 meters. This is an important pass on the ancient Huizhou-Hangzhou Road and the main pass of Qingliang Peak. After crossing the first bridge in Jiangnan and climbing the pass from the west, the terrain is steep and rugged, with spectacular and strange rocks such as Millstone Rock, Tianguan Rock, General Rock, and Luomilong. The towering peaks and rocks are sandwiched between the north and south, separated by canyons, and the winding Xiaoyao River flows between them. In the canyon, a pile of chaotic stones is stacked, and the rushing water of the canyon is swirling and sometimes raging, sometimes gentle and elegant. The gate of the pass is made of four large stone bars horizontally laid on natural rocks, with the words "Jiangnan First Pass" engraved on the west lintel and "Built by the people of Li during the Tongzhi period of the Huizhou-Hangzhou Road, inscribed by Shao Daotang" on the east side. After entering the pass, the stone path is slightly flat, still winding between steep cliffs. There is a "Second Journey" temple in the pass. It is said that in the spring of 1932, Cheng Zaoqi and Cheng Ruihu of Beicun went to Zhejiang for business, but were killed by rockslide under the cliff, so the temple was built as a commemoration. The name of Jiangnan First Pass is said to have originated from the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom when Wang Li Shixian and his troops passed through in 1861 and praised it as a natural barrier; some say that in the prospectus of Jiangnan First Pass in the Ming Dynasty, a row of stones at the front of the picture was written with the words "Jiangnan First Pass". Jiangnan First Pass is a well-known national cultural heritage and a good tourist attraction. Address Fuling Town, Jixi County, Xuancheng City, Anhui Province
