Introduction
The iconic landmark of Beihai Park is a Tibetan-style Lama Tower built in the early Qing dynasty, located on Qionghua Island. The tower is circular on top and square on the bottom, with a Mahabodhi-style base. The top of the tower is decorated with a gem, a precious top, and patterns of sun, moon, and flames, symbolizing Buddha Dharma, and allowing the sun, moon, and light to shine forever on earth. This tower is considered to be a building that can bless the country and people in Tibetan Buddhism, so the white tower of Beihai was built on Qionghua Island.
