Introduction

In the western mountains scenic area of Beijing's Badachu, there is a Buddhist pagoda built on the site of the Lingguang Temple, one of the reconstructed Buddhist buildings in the Chinese Buddhist community. Here, one of the only two remaining Buddhist tooth relics in the world is enshrined, making it an important place for Buddhists from both China and abroad to pay homage. In 1983, the State Council designated the Buddhist Tooth Relic Pagoda as a national key monastery for Han Chinese Buddhism and it is currently managed by monks dispatched by the Chinese Buddhist Association.
