Introduction

Lingguang Temple, located in the western mountains of Cu Wei Shan in Shijingshan District, Beijing, is an ancient Buddhist temple with a history of over 1,200 years. As the second temple in the Badachu area, the temple was originally built in the Tang Dynasty during the Dali era (766-779 AD), and was then known as Longquan Temple. It was expanded during the Liao Dynasty and renamed as Jueshan Temple during the Jin Dynasty. In the Ming Dynasty, it was renovated in the 15th year of Chenghua (1479 AD) and officially renamed Lingguang Temple, a name that has been used ever since.
