Introduction

This small island was originally in the Taiye Pool, but later filled in to form its current size and environment. The small city is circular and surrounded by a high wall made of bricks. There is a gate tower on both the east and west sides of the city wall, which can be reached by climbing up the slope to the top of the city. The layout of the buildings on the top of the city adopts symmetrical and landscaping techniques. The main building is the Chengguang Hall, where a pure white jade statue of Sakyamuni Buddha is enshrined on the main altar in the north, with red and green gems in the crown and folds, shining brightly. During the invasion of the Eight-Power Allied Forces into Beijing, they looted all the rare and antique objects inside the Tuan City, even leaving knife marks on the right arm of the jade Buddha.
