An oasis in the desert

Introduction

Shahu is located in Pingluo County, about 50 kilometers northwest of Yinchuan City. It is an eco-tourism scenic spot that combines the water town scenery of southern Jiangnan with the desert landscape. Shahu scenic area is divided into two parts: the lake area and the desert area. The desert area is not connected to the land and can only be reached by purchasing a boat ticket. Shahu is a great bird watching spot, with birds such as pochard, red-billed duck and herons nesting and breeding in the lake area. The period from April to May and from September to October is when many migratory birds come here to rest and feed, creating a spectacular sight when flocks of birds take flight. In winter, there are also ice sculptures and skiing resorts to enjoy.
