Introduction

Originating from the Tianchi of Changbai Mountain, Songhua River is magnificent with lush green grass, like a green ribbon passing through Jilin City. It is the third largest river in China after Yangtze River and Yellow River, and also one of the seven major rivers in China. It is the most important tributary of Heilongjiang River. From late December to early February every year, the banks along the river are covered with rime, making it an excellent place to view rime.
