Introduction

This place is located about 70 kilometers south of Urumqi. It is famous for producing salt and is known as the "China Dead Sea" by locals. The lake has a diameter of about 4 kilometers and the water is a beautiful shade of blue. The surrounding area is covered in white salt crystals and there are towering salt mountains nearby, which is breathtaking.

"The Xinjiang Salt Lake is located approximately 70 kilometers south of Urumqi city. Visitors can charter a car or take a bus from the Huanghe Road suburban passenger station to Dabancheng city, and get off at the salt lake."
