Introduction

"Yaochi" is an ancient name, referring to a crescent-shaped lake on the north side of the Bogda Peak in the Tianshan Mountains of Xinjiang. It is now known as Tianchi and is a famous tourist destination. The lake water is crystal clear, reflecting the majestic beauty of the Bogda Peak. Surrounded by mountains, the spruce and fir trees are tall and verdant, like a fairyland. It is recommended to visit before dusk, as the lake water will present different colors with the changing light, ranging from emerald green to blue in the distance. From mid-November to the end of March the following year, tourists can also go to the nearby Tianshan ski resort to participate in the "Tianshan Tianchi Ice and Snow Festival" and experience skiing and other different ice and snow activities.
