Introduction

The Baishuijian Ancient Town Scenic Area in Dabancheng City, located at the foot of the Tianshan Mountains, is a key area that connects south and north Xinjiang. It has a long history and is a must-visit site along the Silk Road. Tang Dynasty stone tablets unearthed from the Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang recorded: "Before the year 640 AD, the Tang Dynasty pacified Gaochang and established Baishui Town in the territory of Xizhou after the Western Zhou Dynasty." The scenic area covers an area of 750 mu, where ancient military buildings such as Tang-style gatehouses, moats, drawbridges, and weapon platforms can still be seen, showcasing the magnificent and majestic military town in the flourishing Tang Dynasty. Standing on the city gate tower, visitors can have a panoramic view of the beautiful scenery in the north, including the Bogda Snow Mountain, wetlands with abundant water and grass, streams surrounded by green forests, and vast grasslands. There are also three unique attractions worth exploring within the scenic area: the Xiaokou ancient city with autonomous region-level cultural relics, the unique landscape wetland park, and the Wang Lao-bin Memorial Hall.
