Introduction

Hailongtun site is located in the northwest of Zunyi City, Guizhou Province, about 30 kilometers from the city center. It is one of the best-preserved medieval castle ruins in China and even in Asia. Hailongtun is surrounded by mountains, resembling a slender-necked gourd. On the north, east, and south sides are the "Baisha River," the main source of the Xiangjiang River, with layers of city walls built, including Yuecheng and Tucheng. Three walls surround the reservoir, winding along the mountains with magnificent scenery, making it a stunning site where large military and palace buildings perfectly blend together and is one of the important sites for studying medieval castles.
