Introduction

Located in the central-western part of Yemingshan Scenic Area, Longmenxia Scenic Area features historical military sites as its main attractions. These include the Ming Dynasty Dailongmen Castle, Ming and Qing Dynasty rock carvings, the Shangtianguo Nine Waterfalls and Eighteen Altars, and the Ape-Man Valley. The Longmenxia Gorge is 1.2 kilometers long, with over 30 rock carvings on the cliffs on either side of the attractions, which are precious cultural relics left by military officials who stationed at the passes in history. Among them, "Wanren Tianguan" and "Qianfeng Gongli" are the most stunning, with characters reaching up to 2.7 meters. It is recommended to start exploring the scenic area from the "Shangtianguo" entrance, where the air is fresh and walking along the mountain paths can add fun to your exercise.
