Introduction
The construction of the Flesh Palace began in the Tang Dynasty Zhenyuan year. After many times of destruction and reconstruction, it has now become the most precious and sacred place in Jiuhua Mountain, and a must-visit place for tourists.
Currently, the Flesh Palace is built in a tower-style, covered with iron tiles, and has palace-style flying eaves on the four corners. There is a wooden tower on the tower base, and there is a Buddha niche in each floor of the wooden tower. The octagonal glass lamp is hung in front of the wooden tower, emitting light all year round.
There are two main gates on the north and south sides of the Flesh Palace. The southern gate is the main entrance, and the northern gate is more open, with a semicircular jade platform on it. There are three large cauldrons cast on the platform, where incense can be lit for prayer, and worshippers can walk clockwise around the tower to pray for blessings.
Every year on the thirtieth day of the seventh lunar month, the monks of Jiuhua Mountain hold the "Ksitigarbha Ceremony" in the Flesh Palace, reciting sutras and praying for the blessing of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.
