Introduction

Zhigong Zen Monastery was built in the Ming Dynasty and is located to the east of Yingxian Bridge at the western foot of Jiuhua Mountain's Dongya Cliff. It is the leader of the "Four Great Forests (Zhigong, Dongya, Baisui, and Ganlu)." The monastery is divided into three sections, including the mountain gate, Maitreya Hall, the Great Buddha Hall, and monk dormitories. In 1983, Zhigong Zen Monastery was listed as a national key monastery in the Han ethnicity area. The vegetarian food here is delicious and served for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. However, due to high traffic, supplies are limited and planning ahead is essential. Zhigong Zen Monastery is one of the larger temples on the mountain and has a guesthouse for visitors. Its perfect hospitality standards and great value make it one of the best places to stay on the mountain.

Therefore, it is recommended to avoid weekend periods as much as possible if you want to drive to the mountain.
