Flying to Kanas takes 1 hour by car from the airport to the Jia Deng Valley (entrance to the scenic area).
Self-driving: It takes 10 hours from Urumqi to Burqin (including meal time in between); It takes about 2 hours from Burqin to Jia Deng Yu (150km).
Taking a bus from Urumqi to Burqin, and then chartering a car to Kanas, or taking a bus to Hemu (there is a bus every morning at 10:00).
Afterward, you can charter a car from Baihaba Village or Kanas Scenic Area.
