Introduction
The exhibition hall of the China-Japanese War Museum is a multifunctional exhibition hall that focuses on displaying the history of the Sino-Japanese War. The main building, designed by architect Professor Peng Yigang, combines the image of the Beiyang Navy ships with statues of Beiyang Navy commanders, and is hailed as a "classic 20th century Chinese architectural masterpiece." The museum's main theme is the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895, and it showcases over 650 precious historical pictures of the war. It also replicates a large amount of weaponry and equipment from that period, and features lifelike figurines depicting scenes such as "the Jinzhou Qu's family throwing themselves into a well" and "Li Hongzhang negotiating at Maguan". Additionally, it is the first museum in China to have a 3D cinema that showcases the "Battle of Yellow Sea" through multimedia technology. The exhibition hall is divided into five sections: the prelude hall, China and Japan before the Sino-Japanese War, the Sino-Japanese War, the abyss and resistance, and the epilogue hall.
