Introduction

Dawang Peak is the highest peak in the Wuyi Mountains. From the top, ancient trees reach towards the sky, while the southern side is a steep cliff with only a narrow path leading to the top. The path gets narrower the higher it goes, requiring climbers to squeeze through sideways and use all four limbs. Starting from the observation deck, climbers can reach Tiantai and then ascend a few more steps to reach the top of Dawang Peak. When drifting on a bamboo raft through a bend, you can see Dawang Peak towering on the north bank of the river, piercing the sky like a pillar. It was officially named Dawang Peak because of its majestic height and its representation of royalty. Additionally, it is said to represent a love story across the river with Yuni Peak.
