Introduction

Beihai Park, located in the center of Beijing, is the earliest and most complete classical imperial garden in China with rich cultural heritage. The park is centered around Beihai Lake and includes four distinct areas; the North Bank Scenic Area, East Bank Scenic Area, Qionghua Island Scenic Area, and Tuancheng Scenic Area. Each area has its own unique features. Visitors can enjoy a boat ride on the vast water while admiring the imperial architecture and listening to stories about the royal history. The gardens on the East Bank such as Haopujian, Huafangzhai, and Cantan exhibit natural beauty and charm of private gardens in South China. The North Bank area's Jingshenzhai, Western Heaven's Temple, Chengguan Hall, Nine-Dragon Screen, Chanfu Temple, and the Pure-land World blend harmoniously with the natural landscape, creating a picturesque scenery. One of the famous "Yan Jing Eight Scenic Spots", "Qiongdao Spring Shade", is best viewed in April when the flowers are blooming and the landscape is captivating.
