Introduction

Huang Bixiu began building the Rui Shi Tower in the 12th year of the Republic of China, and it took three years to complete. It is a style of fortified building and also the signature architecture of Kaiping. Each floor has a carved screen made of imported Kuntan or Zitan wood from Hong Kong, with various fonts including seal, clerical, regular, running, and cursive scripts written on it, showcasing a rich traditional cultural atmosphere. The rooftop has three pavilions, with a dome of Roman and Byzantine style. The name of the tower was given by Tie Chan, a famous calligrapher in Guangdong province and the abbot of the Six Banyan Trees Temple in Guangzhou at that time.
