Introduction

The Vorontsov Palace in Alupka, located at the foot of Ai-Petri Mountain in the Yalta region, was built in the 19th century in the Moorish Revival architectural style. It is a precious heritage site of history and culture. The palace is surrounded by the magnificent Vorontsov Park, created by the famous horticulturist of Crimea's southern coast, Karl Antonovich Koba. The palace used new (relative to classicism) architectural design and construction principles, and was built in a location that differed from the surrounding mountainous terrain, which gives the palace its unique artistic and expressive appearance. The palace's architecture combines different elements from different eras, from early styles to the 16th century style. For example, the western gate is an earlier element, while elements further from the western gate are more modern in appearance. The palace's architecture uses an English style, while being organically combined with the Moorish Revival architectural style. For example, the Gothic chimneys resemble the spires of a mosque, and the south entrance is decorated with Eastern imagery, such as horseshoe arches, double-layered arches, and plaster ornaments on niches, interwoven with Tudor and lotus patterns, repeating six times with the Arabic inscription: "Except for Allah, there is no victor". Today, the Vorontsov Palace in Alupka has become a museum that attracts tourists to explore its rich history and cultural heritage, and appreciate the beautiful architecture and natural landscapes.
