Introduction

Bascarsija is the Turkish old town area of Sarajevo, consisting of many alleys and small streets that form a maze. It is very lively here and you can see craftsmen turning metal sheets into shiny vessels in small shops. The streets are paved with cobblestones, which have been polished smooth by the feet of pedestrians. Behind these bustling alleyways is the soul of Sarajevo.
