Introduction

The Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond are located on the main road in the city center, also known as Anapji Pond. During the reign of King of Silla, it was excavated into a lotus pond, with mountains, water, flowers, grass and treasure inside. The palace on the east side is a separate palace of the Silla Palace and was once the residence of the East Palace where state guests and the crown prince were entertained. Although the building is not very large, the view is unlimited when lotus flowers bloom in summer. Although daytime viewing may be ordinary in other seasons, the night view is quite beautiful. According to the 1974 survey, Anapji Pond is spherical and covers an area of 200 meters east to west and 180 meters north to south, with three islands of different sizes inside. The current Wolji Pond is close to circular and was rebuilt along the coast. The site of the Lianhai Palace was originally the palace of the Silla Palace, and was once the residence of the East Palace. It is called the Lianhai Palace site because it appeared most frequently in historical records. When it was first excavated, the outlines of the palace buildings, corridors, and five pavilions on the west side of Anapji Pond were discovered. Part of the buildings have now been restored and other parts have only been completed with supports.
