Introduction
The northern starting point of the Tamsui Line is a station of Taipei Metro, located along the former route of the Beitou-Tamsui Line operated by the Taiwan Railways Administration. The Beitou-Tamsui Line was the first railway branch line in Taiwan, which ceased operation in 1988. Later, Taipei Metro reconstructed the railway bed and established the Tamsui Line, which has become the main transportation route between Taipei city and the Tamsui seaside scenic area.
